Leg workout for Halloween
|Barbell Walking Lunges
1 – Front squat + Back squat, 4 supersets x 15 reps + drop set to failure
Let’s get off on the right foot by crushing your legs right away! For each superset, do 15 repetitions of front squat followed by a drop set to failure of back squat. Rest and repeat. Try not to faint, we’ve got 4 more exercises to do.
2 – Resistance band leg extension + Sissy squat, 4 supersets x 15 reps
Now we’re hitting those quads! For each superset, do 15 repetitions of leg extension with a resistance band followed by 15 repetitions of a sissy squat. Rest and repeat.
3 – Single-leg curl + Leg curl, 4 supersets x 15 reps
Time to go for the hamstrings. For each superset, do 15 reps first with one leg, then another 15 with the other, and finally 15 with both. Rest and repeat. We are almost there, don’t give up now!
4 – Barbell walking lunges + Leg press, 4 supersets x 15 reps
Feeling those legs pumping with blood? Good, we’re going for some more pain. For each superset, do 15 walking lunges with a barbell followed by 15 reps on the leg press. Rest and repeat. If in the end, you look like a character in the walking dead, you’re on the right path. It’s Halloween, after all!
5 – Calf raises in the smith machine, 5-minute set
By now, you have survived four soul-crushing, leg-destroying supersets, so I won’t make you do more of those. Our finisher will focus on those usually tiny muscles that nobody wants tiny anymore: the calves! The last five minutes of this leg workout are spent in the smith machine, with the bar on your back: just raise and lower your calves until you’re screaming with horror! Only true monsters will last ‘till the end!
Now that we are done, let’s appreciate our day and scare off some chicken legs at the gym. Or even better, make them train like monsters, too! Happy Halloween!
